Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi
The first ever garden tomb in India and it displays the Mughal style of architecture. This tomb was built in memory of the Mughal King named Humayun in the year 1569. It was built by his widowed wife Banu Begum and it is made of pure white marble and it looks like a miniature version of Taj Mahal. Well, Taj Mahal was built much later, inspired by the design of this tomb.
Akshardham Temple in Delhi
This is said to be the second largest Hindu temple of India as in situated in Delhi. There is also another one in Gandhinagar which is the largest one. This temple however was opened in the year 2005, and it is made of pink stones along with white marbles. This temple has carved pillars and is an example of sheer architectural brilliance. One will be awestruck by its beauty.
Taj Mahal in Agra
Well, being a part of Seven Wonders of the World, one cannot miss visiting Taj Mahal in the heritage tour of India. The famous monument built in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 1630 AD. This monument was built with white marble and displays the Persian style of architecture with a mix of Mughal style of architecture as well. This is a spectacle indeed for the travellers.
Forts of Rajasthan
Being the land of warriors and bravery, Rajasthan is a land of some magnificent forts. These forts display the power and opulence of the Rajputs and the structure of these forts are huge as they were built in order to prevent foreign invasions. These forts have intricate pillar carvings along with some exquisite designs. From Chittaurgarh to Jodhour to Jaisalmer and Amber; all the forts are unique and are worth visit.
Khajuraho Temple in Madhya Pradesh
This group of temples are said to be the greatest master piece in Indian art and architecture. These temples were built during the Chandella Dynasty, and it was built sometime between 900 AD and 1130 AD. The erotic figure carvings are unique here, and they mainly depict the love making postures which leaves one awestruck.
